Distribution

In late 2001, Transmed acquired a majority share in "Societe Najem pour l'Industrie et le Commerce", located in Tripoli-Lebanon, the manufacturers of PAMPA juice. This acquisition of one of the first bottling companies in Lebanon (1948), embodied our deep commitment to grow and expand.

The Pampa juice business presented us with a perfect fit between our core competence in sales and distribution in our regional presence and a well-established brand with a lot of upside potential.

Our know-how in the areas of sales, distribution, marketing, combined with a longstanding experience in manufacturing allowed us to develop a complete and comprehensive strategy in terms of product development, packaging, export markets, advertising and communication, production and technology.

The outcome of this strategy materialized in the launch of Pampa juices across Syria and Jordan, the introduction of a new line of juices for youngsters, the upgrading of packaging designs and graphics, a sustained and active advertising campaign, and last but not least the heavy investment in a new manufacturing facility that produces different types of packages (Glass, PET, Carton, HDPE) using aseptic process.

The growth in local and export sales driven by distribution gains and product innovations moved Pampa's market share, in Lebanon, to the number one position.

Based on the success of our venture in the areas of manufacturing, bottling, marketing, sales and distribution of juices, we were eager to further consolidate our business.

In January 2003 The Coca-Cola Company and The Lebanese Beverage Holding Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Transmed, decided to partner in Lebanon.

The Coca Cola Company decided to appoint NBC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Transmed, as the Coca-Cola bottler in Lebanon for its brands which includes: Coca-Cola, Coke Light, Crush, Sprite, Schweppes and Nestea.

In July 2004 we further consolidated our beverage business by acquiring Nada and Dynamics mineral water brands with a bottling facility in the Chouf area.

The consolidation of our beverage business allows us to further expand and leverage our direct distribution reach to new segments like hotels, restaurants, clubs, beaches, snacks, vending, soda fountains and fast food outlets.

The Coca-Cola venture is the cornerstone in Transmed's strategy to be a total beverage company with a range of products that includes: juices, flavored milk, carbonated drinks and mineral water.
