Our entry into the Jordanian market in 1977 was based on a number of encouraging factors, namely geographic proximity, a cultural affinity to Lebanon, a young and growing population and the country's determination to achieve modernization and economic growth.
We operate in Jordan covering the varied trade segments with the highest level of focus to ensure our products reach our consumers at the best value, while providing our trade customers with a fair return for distributing, stocking, displaying and selling our products. Our sales organization directly covers 100% of the major outlets and institutions, whereas our direct coverage of the grocery trade is well above 75% in terms of weighted distribution. Due to the importance of the conventional retail trade, the wholesalers are an important part of our sales focus. We leverage our wholesale penetration with a pro-active approach consisting of a number of tailor-made sales programs designed to maintain and expand a real 'push-pull' activity across this important trade segment.
Transmed sales resources are deployed per trade segment as well as per geographic area. Our direct sales coverage includes Amman and extends to major cities such as Zarqa, Irbid, Karak and Aqaba. The logistics of our sales activities are centralized in Amman at our major warehouse and is supported by satellite warehouse in Aqaba Free Zone.
We also operate a Foodservice division which covers the HORECA channel with a variety of frozen and chilled premium quality products.
